UPDATE! Clatskanie Branch Remodel In Words & Pictures

DSC02826This is a very exciting time for Wauna Credit Union and the Clatskanie community as we watch our Clatskanie branch morph into a modern Financial Center! Our Clatskanie branch was built back in 1988, and has looked basically the same for all these years! Today, with financial services changing, we wanted to create a new style of branch that serves our member needs now.DSC02823

Aside from the amazing physical changes shown in these photos, the entire way our branch works will also change! Very soon when you come to our Clatskanie branch you’ll be greeted by our Member Consultants. No longer will members have to speak to different staff for loans or for transactions, they will all be able to serve in every capacity. We will also be introducing “hip to hip” banking, so instead of being across the counter, you will see exactly what out staff is doing on the computer screen! DSC02820DSC02819

We are also expanding our administrative area on the second floor to better serve our growing organization. Currently, our back office staff is getting rather crowded together, and the time has come to redesign our floor space to better serve our departments.DSC02869

We are very excited about these changes, and we welcome the community to join us on June 20th. We will unveil the first phase of our remodeled branch and then take on the other side and finish the second floor. Stay tuned for more details to come…

PRESS: Wauna Credit Union Honored For New Website Design

From the Daily Astorian, May 20, 2016

Wauna Credit Union was recently recognized by the Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) for its website update, and received an honorable mention trophy for excellence in marketing and communications during an awards ceremony and dinner April 7 held at Hotel Monaco in Portland.

The full website rebuild, which took the financial cooperative much of 2015 to create, was called bold, fresh, and modern by the judges. It features easy navigation and a responsive design, and is much more streamlined than the one it replaced.

The development team consisted of COO Debi Smiley, Stephanie Sievers, Carli Lyon, Cameron Willets, Jacob Humphries, and was led by Wauna CU Marketing Coordinator Amy Stocky, with oversight from Marketing Vice President Mike Chapman. The group worked with the Portland web developer Avtec Media.

The award was presented by NWCUA CEO Troy Stang at the gala event that honored more than 30 Northwest credit unions for their outstanding marketing achievements in 2015.

“The positive member feedback that Wauna Credit Union has received about the website since its launch has been a prize in itself for the growing credit union,” Amy Stocky said, “and now they have a trophy to prove it.”

An open letter to those affected by the recent storms – Wauna CU is here to help:

Dear Community,

Our communities have been hit with some very bad, and even deadly rains recently. Oregon Governor Kate Brown has declared both Columbia and Clatsop Counties a state of emergency, and we have not yet even crossed into winter!

In an effort to help our friends and neighbors who have been affected, or may be affected in the near future, Wauna Credit Union has rushed to create a variety of special programs to help. These programs also include our Pacific County Community, your weather is our weather!

While our Credit Union and staff are of course donating and volunteering wherever we can, we wanted to do more!

We are offering a Skip-A-Pay for secured and unsecured consumer loans, including credit cards – Just tell us you have been impacted by these storms and we will skip your payment next month. We don’t need proof, we believe you – we live here too. We just want to make at least one thing a little easier right now for everyone!

We also know that even those who were not flooded may have missed work or had other setbacks, so this Skip-A-Pay includes you as well.

If you have experienced damage to your home or car or business, we are also offering a discounted interest rate on loans to repair or replace what you’ve lost.

Come to any branch, call or apply online. Let us know what you need, and we will do our best to secure a loan for you at a considerably lower interest rate.

As this winter progresses, we will do all we can to assist our communities, especially if this dangerous weather continues. Wauna Credit Union was born here on the lower Columbia Pacific Region, this is our home, and our members, neighbors, and communities mean the world to us! Please do not hesitate to contact us at 800-773-3236 or at waunafcu.org for help.

We wish everyone a safe holiday season and better weather in the New Year!

Sincerely,

All of us at Wauna Credit Union
